They Are Not Traitors , I wish we were Them

Some people do not like what is currently happening in Iran and some of them may go too far accusing Mousavi and his followers to be traitors working for the western powers that want to down Ahmedinajed "Arab Nationalists" where as others believe that those protests are just from the middle class where as the Ahmedinajed is the hero of the poor class who will save Iran from the claws of the capitalism "Arab and Egyptian socialists and leftists"
Strangely those socialists and leftists usually attack the religious state which is the basis of the Islamic republic of Iran and are defending the secular state , of course they defend Ahmedinajed because he is the outspoken leader against the United States of America and Israel and he is the son of the poor man who became the President of Iran.
First of all let's get something straight here the son of the poor man did not improve the living of the poor in Iran in fact the economy got worsened in his rule. Second of all with my respect this is not classes war for God sake. Third it is not up to us in our countries to determine what is good for the Iranian people whether for their economic or political policies , it is up to them , they are not kids ,they are grown ups who can hold the responsibility of their actions for 4 years. If they choose Capitalism , then they should have it  if they choose socialism then they should have it , they are the ones who will bear the consequences not us !!
Regarding the main issues of Iran whether its Nuclear program or relations with Israel Mousavi and Ahmedinajed are not different except that the first will use the smooth politics technique with the West just like Khatami "Do you remember how things were great between Khatami and the rest of the world where as he was reviving the nuclear program of his country !!??"
Israel is lucky of having a man that Ahmadinejad to justify its attacks on Gaza and its quest to strike Iran and to send the whole region in another WWIII , they do not want men like Mousavi, but men like Ahmadinajed help them to look as victims in the world where as they are the victimizers.
I am so sad about how some Egyptian bloggers are taking the side of Ahmedinajed just because he is against the United States as if Musaovi were traitor !!
I am so sad about how some Egyptians bloggers are okay with all those attacks against the young protesters who are exactly like us from the age and ambitions to see their country  better  ,the only difference between them and us is that they are more daring who do not care for all those security forces in their country.
I do not know how those Egyptian bloggers forget that that it seems so obvious that the elections results were altered and thus the democracy they calling for in Egypt are not applied in Iran.
Instead of attack those young Iranians we should be ashamed from ourselves , 6 presidential elections were completely fabricated not to mention the parliamentary elections and we are just sitting on our asses doing nothing except criticizing those wonderful youth !!
There is no much difference between Mubarak's regime and Ahmedinajed's regime if both of them cheat in the elections if you think about it.

  3. Dear Zeinobia,

All in all a very sensitive commentary on the debacle in Iran.I wish there could have been a better outcome but tyranny reigns supreme.

You talk about a choice between capitalism and socialism but that is not so clearcut. In truth America for instance is not really a pure capitalist nation nor are the European countries purely socialist. America has had a modified Capitalist system with many government controls since 1913 and most of the current economic decline can be blamed on the governmental structures that were set in place to control the "greedy" capitalists. It was the goverment sector that failed to exercize its authorized control or in the case of Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac ( both government entities)they funded home mortgages that were not fiscally responsible. Idealism versus common sense. On the other hand most of social;ized Europe had the same problems.

I do not have the impression that Egyptian elections were as bad as those in Iran but I have no direct knowledge.I thought only that campaigning was severely restricted.

    Salaam Alayakum

  4. Dear Mido, violence is from both sides , did you check the photo I posted later.
Also did you see the videos of how the Police forces there attack girls ?? just like ours ,of course ours they harass the ladies and girls like what happened from couple of years.
Mido the Iranians are not like us ,the valley people ,they live in the mountains when they are angry ,they are real angry , check the photos of the Iranian revolution in 1970s , same anger. strangely the Shah and his media were attacking his opponents in the same way

@Misrcribe, I will start from the end our elections are much more worse ,for God Sake we are the 99.9999999999999999% elections ,the last Presidential elections Mubarak let some puppets to stand in front of him !!
In Iran there are two presidential terms for the President where as in Egypt is for life !!
now about the capitalism and socialism, it is not about the systems themselves we are describing but recently I found some of the Egyptian bloggers are taking side of Ahmadnijad because he is the candidate of the poor as they claim and that those protesters do not represent the iranian society nor they have the power to change the future because they are from the middle and middle high class in iran !!
I do not look to what is going in Tehran like that , this is a war between the reformists and the conservatives simply as that, the conservatives are insisting to win in dirty ways but the people now are standing against them.
